Parkmore
has been the 'face' of PeatFreak for the first few years of its existence,
despite being located in Dufftown, Speyside and not on Islay! Built in
1890 it has gone silent in 1931, although its warehouses are still used
to this day.
One of its greatest assets is its looks, which was my choice for picking
one of my photo's from its pagoda for the head graphics for so long. It
is still one of the random images that will show up.
Located in Dufftown it has many neighbors, two of which can be located
on this VR as well. At the end of the road you can just see the white
buildings of Glenfiddich, and a bit to the right of that, if you look
well, just the top of the roof of the buildings from Balvenie. As a side
note, behind the trees on the hill directly opposite the road Balvenie
Castle is located.
Not really visible in the VR (but visible in the photo on the left), located
just behind the purple Lupine flowers is the Dufftown-Keith railway. Now
a touristic line which is a must if you ever find yourself in Dufftown.
In Keith it's a small walk to the beautiful Strathisla distillery.
