Glen
Grant is a distillery you can't leave out of your whisky trail. Its free
(which most Dutch like myself will like!), but also has a beautiful garden
situated in a glen behind the distillery. As you can see, its hard to find
a moment to photograph when there are no touringbusses on the courtyard
...
The distillery was originated by brothers John and James Grant, and taken
over by James' son who also built Glen Grant2, later known as Caperdonich,
just across the street. Currently the young single malt is very popular
in Italy, and each time we visited the distillery we saw more Italians doing
the tour then in other distilleries.
The large light grey building is the stillhouse where the stills are fitted
with unusual purifiers of which you can find a photo on the left.
You can navigate back to garden viewpoint 1,
2 or 3.
