A sauce for 2 people. Runs well as a sauce with steak
or pork chops and chips. To me this sauce is a bit special as it is fully my
own recipe ;) It always has had success as a starter of a whisky nosing and
tasting with friends.
We will need to have the next ingredients:
- butter
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 onion
- 100 gr. mushrooms
- 2 pork chops, or 2 steaks
- 1 small red paprika
- 1 dram of sweet Single Malt Whisky
- 100 ml cream
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 0,1 liter chicken stock
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 spring onion
- salt & pepper to taste
Heat the butter in a large frying-pan and fry the onions. Add the mushrooms
after a short while, and fry them light brown. Then add the steaks or pork chops
and fry them until your liking. Add the whisky while firmly shaking the pan
side to side. Watch out for the flames as the whisky fumes burn! Then remove
the steaks and keep them warm.
Add the paprika and let them fry for a few moments before you add the stock,
cream, honey and vinegar. Lower the fire, and let it stay on a low fire so the
sauce can thicken in.
